Texas Community College Instructional Administrators (TCCIA) Association

TCCIA is an active association that provides strong professional networking opportunities to instructional administrators in Texas Community Colleges.  Additionally, the association is a powerful resource for legislators, state agencies, community organizations, workforce and economic development organizations wanting to know more about Texas Community Colleges.  Generally, TCCIA focuses on general and developmental education, college completion, transfer issues, college readiness issues, learning outcomes enhancement, accountability, accreditation, student retention, and student success.  If you are an instructional administrator in a Texas community college with instructional administrator responsibilities, TCCIA is your association! 

Join us at the Annual Summer Conference, the Fall TCCIL Conference, or through virtual collaborative activities (listserv, online forums, etc...). 

The Annual Summer Texas Community College Instructional Administrators (TCCIA) Conference (usually in June of each year) normally includes topics such as:  

• Impact of legislative issues on community colleges

• Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and SACS information related to community college programs

• Strengthening of instructional programs

• Development of effective leadership

• Innovation leading to successful teaching and learning

• Collaboration on issues of common interest

The Fall Texas Community College Instructional Leaders (TCCIL) Conference (usually in October of each year) brings together instructional administrators representing all aspects of the mission of the comprehensive community college, including academic transfer, workforce/technical educators, and continuing/corporate educators.  The groups include TCCIA, the Texas Association of College Technical Educators (TACTE), and the Texas Association of Continuing Education (TACE).  This collaborative conference allows us to see connections between our operations while highlighting opportunities for innovation in challenging times.  The collaboration of TCCIA, TACTE, and TACE provides the opportunity for all instructional administrators to speak with one voice, address issues of concern and interest common to all administrators, and allow the individual association conferences to focus on those issues of particular concern and relevance to their membership.
